Oak Hill Academy pounds St. Ignatius, 114-41

Junior guard Lindell Wigginton picked up right where he left off from Tuesday, scoring 19 points in the first quarter of Oak Hill's blowout win over St. Ignatius Academy, 114-41.

Wigginton finished the night with 24 points, following up Tuesday's 25-point performance against Mountain Mission.

The Warriors outscored St. Ignatius 33-11 in the first quarter, including a 20-4 run to start the ballgame.  Khadim Sy scored four points and Braxton Key added two while Wigginton accounted for the other 14 points opening the game.

Things continued to get out of hand for St. Ignatius in the second quarter. Already trailing by 24, the Warriors closed he second quarter on a 15-0 run to take a 57-18 lead at the halftime break.

Mario Kegler returned to the lineup after missing Tuesday's game and the senior did not appear to miss a beat, burying a long three-pointer and then converting an old fashion three-point play after finishing strong near the basket and drawing a foul. Wigginton, Sy, Devontae Shuler, Matt Coleman and Montez each scored a basket to close out the first half.

Oak Hill continued its dominance in the third quarter, opening the period on a 14-2 run to build its lead up to 71-20. Key scored six of those while Shuler and Ty'Shon Alexander both buried long three-point shots.

Senior Rodney Miller caught fire late in the third, scoring five points, including a pair of thunderous slams that got the crowd cheering. The Warriors held an 84-30 lead going to the fourth.

In the four quarter, Matt Coleman came to life, scoring seven of his 10 points and tossing a pair of nice ally-oop passes to Sy.

Overall, the Warriors had six players reach double figures. Wigginton led them all with 24. Kegler finished with 17, Key scored 16 and Sy chipped in 13. Shuler and Coleman both ended the game with 10 points each.

Alexander finished up with eight, Miller had seven, Mathis scored six and Kenneth Nwuba rounded out the scorebook with three points.

Oak Hill Academy is now 6-1 overall. The Warriors will be off for Thanksgiving break and return to the hardwood on December 1 against A.C. Flora High School.
