This coming weekend, Phenom Hoop Report will be hosting our second annual National High School Showcase at Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, NC. 20 teams will be making their way to western Forsyth County to showcase their talents to a plethora of scouts, college coaches, and passionate fans. After thorough review of the field, our team decided to put together a little “sneak preview” of individual players and matchups that people won’t want to miss.

Oak Hill Academy vs 22 Feet Academy

22 Feet Academy Players to Watch

Sedee Keita

  • A South Carolina commit, Keita is a big power forward with all the tools down low in the paint.  With his 6’9 frame, he not only has the length but is pretty athletic for his size.  He works best when he is in the post and paint, whether it is scoring or rebounding, while also being a good defender for 22 Feet.  Keita is ranked as at Top 75 player in the country.

Eli Wright

  • A Mississippi State commit, Wright is an athletic senior who has a nice tough on the court, no matter where he is.  Wright is also a very good passer and is a Top 100 player that could really elevate his game in an event like this.

Darius Hicks

  • Hicks is a very strong forward and is explosive around the rim.  Hicks is a South Carolina Top 100 kid and he can do so much on the court.  Whether it is getting to the rim or knocking down an open shot, he can be very dangerous with his size and frame.  He holds offers from Providence, Georgia Tech, UMASS and others is a Top 150 kind of player.

Max Hoekstra

  • “Hoekstra, who is originally from Holland, is a sharpshooting wing. He rebounds the ball well and also shoots it with deep range. Hoekstra, an alum of the prestigious South Carolina Top 80, can put it on the floor to attack the rim, and when he is playing confidently he can ring up numbers quickly. When watching with a D1 coach, they stated that Hoekstra will make money one day playing basketball. A lot to like here, moving forward.”

Justin Miller

  • “Miller won the state championship last year in Kentucky tipping the scales around 300 pounds. The very skilled lefty is now at 240 pounds and moving around a lot better. He is a high post, mismatch type of forward who carries offers from South Carolina State and Eastern Kentucky. Those leagues feel right.”

He can be used in several sets on offense, whether it is down low or along the outside, this young man is a talent that you don’t want to miss.

Junior TyShon Alexander

·        This young man recently committed to Creighton and they are getting a good one.  Last year, he was learning the ropes at Oak Hill but now, he is a valuable option for Coach Smith.  He has worked on his perimeter game and could be their most consistent shooter.  He also can play multiple positions if needed as he is very versatile on the court.

Senior Mario Kegler

·        A t6’7, 218 pounds, this senior forward is a hoss down low in the paint and with Giles now out, becomes even bigger for Oak Hill.  He can not only get it done in the post but also take his game out to the perimeter to know down shots.  Programs like Maryland, Arizona State, LSU, and Mississippi State are showing the most interest.
